Is this different from the Vacation Bible School program that WHUMC offers?
- Yes, the VBS program is a church-sponsored event only. They use a pre-planned, purchased curriculum which, while fun, is much like any other church VBS program you could find at any given church.
- Our Summer Camp Program is absolutely unique. It follows the emergent curriculum, “process over product” philosophy of our preschool and is planned and taught by our talented Preschool Teachers.
How do you determine the cost for camp?
- We compared what we are offering to that of other preschools and we are right at the median. At the same time, we are offering 5 half-days; many preschools only offer 4 days for a similar cost. Our Camp program is not a money-maker for us as much as it is a fund-raiser for our Tuition Sponsorship Fund as well as a way for us to cover costs to offer this unique experience to our students and the neighboring community.
How many camper spots are available?
- We are limiting camper spots to 30 this year so that we can provide the highest quality experience possible. We are first offering our camp program to our returning and new preschool students. Beginning at the end of April, we will begin accepting applications for our Camp Program from church members and neighborhood children.
How do I apply and pay?
- Applications are available on this website (see above).
